Paper seems ordinary and common, but a thin piece of paper can have a strong impact on the world.
Henry Liang, President of Taiwan Lung Meng Advanced Composite Materials CO, LTD, mentioned in an interview with 《The Icons》 that the consumption of paper manufacturing ranks fifth in the world. If we want to reduce the burden for the earth, the manufacturing method and materials of paper must be changed!
A hard stone transformed into a gentle and friendly-environmental paper?
Hardness is the first association that comes up when talking about stones, nobody thought that one day, hard stones can also become soft paper.
“How much effort does it take to make paper out of stone? So does energy and money, is it worth it?” Reporter of《The Icons》asked.
Henry Liang indicated that the production of general pulp paper is completed through steaming wood chips, soaking in strong acid and strong alkali, bleaching, washing and then drying, the complicated procedures and energy consumption will pollute and harm the environment.
To the reporter’s question, he said: “The manufacture of stone paper is made of Calcium carbonate; we put stones in equipment to make it, then mixed with non-toxic resin; without using a drop of water, low carbon emissions, low consumption and cheap.”
Stones Save the Earth, and They Save You
How great is stone paper? Henry Liang said that currently the most widely used stone carton is not only very environmentally friendly and durable, but also waterproof.
“Many vegetable, fruit or seafood producers use ordinary cartons to pick up their products, and the products are often crushed before they are delivered because the cartons are deformed by moisture; many businessmen come to us for stone cartons because the price is affordable and it ensures that the goods are delivered to customers in good shape.”
Henry Liang emphasized again:
“Stone cartons are very effective and the price is good, but the most important is that they can fulfill ESG. Paper manufacturing is destroying the earth, but if it is made of stone, a piece of stone paper can lift the whole earth!”
