CEO of ARaizen Sean Hsu:  To Save Earth, We use AR Tech to Reduce Leaflets

In the modern age of advanced commerce and technology, advertising is indispensable. In order to achieve this effect, companies print a large number of leaflets, posters, DMs and other consumables.

The energy consumption of papermaking ranks third in the world, and the leaflets have no value of reuse. If countless resources are wasted in one publicity, not to mention hundreds of businesses promoting at the same time.

CEO of ARaizen, Sean Hsu got the interview from《The Icons》at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and talked about ARaizen’s contribution to the environment.

Leaflets with short life are destroying our homes

Leaflets may be inconspicuous, but think about it, how much harm will a leaflet do to the environment after going through papermaking, design, printing and other procedures, and mass printing? It is not difficult to find that the resources consumed and the damage to the environment are difficult to estimate.

“In most cases, these leaflets are just delivered to others, and then discarded in the next minute. Isn’t it very wasteful? Every time I think about it, I feel like the future of the earth will be gloomy. This is our home. I don’t want her future to be like this.” This is the voice of the founder Sean.

“Augmented Reality” (AR) is to present information, video, images, objects and other contents in virtual, so that the public can obtain information which cannot be conveyed by physical objects, enhance the experience that leaflets cannot have; ARaizen creates their products through AR technology: LBS (Location Based AR System).

“We use AR to create LBS, scan different signs or scenery in the city through mobile phones, and then use AR to present the advertisements. In this way, we don’t need to waste resources to print leaflets or posters.”

Sean said that human beings and technology are constantly progressing. When technology is used properly, it can not only protect the environment, but also save costs, and bring humans more advanced and convenient experiences. This is the concept that ARaizen is promoting. Let Technology and Business complement each other, and human beings and nature coexist in a sustainable way.

In addition,  LBS also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the entrepreneurial process:

“The 12th goal of the SDGs talks about Responsible Consumption and Production, reminding us to promote green economy and ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns, and the 15th goal Life on Land, including conservation and sustainable development. Using terrestrial ecosystems to ensure biodiversity and prevent land degradation, of course, also includes cutting down trees. These two parts are the guidelines in our hearts when promoting LBS!”

No matter the sounds of rain flapping on the leaves or trees, it belongs to the sound of nature which makes the sounds of foot steps clear.
