CEO of Hawk-Eye Innovations, Rufus Hack, Regional Sales Supervisor, Anthony Estes: Enjoy World Cup without Going Abroad

The FIFA World Cup is one of the most popular events in the world. The Qatar World Cup in 2022 has nearly 575 million viewers. For the FIFA World Cup, which is held every four years, many fans hope to support their favorite teams on the spot, but due to factors such as economy, time, and location, most people could only watch it on TV.

For those lucky ones who were able to be at scene, under the excited mood, no one know the impact of that World Cup brought onto the environment; in the 2023 CES,《The Icons》interviewed Anthony Estes from Hawk-Eye Innovations, to understand how do they changes the future of watching games through Manchester VR Sport.

Experiencing the game through technology

Did you know the 2022 World Cup has nearly 3.63 million tons of carbon emissions? 2.7 million tons of carbon emissions are counted during the preparation period for the World Cup, the rest of them are transportation and living of contestants, which doesn’t even count the carbon that is generated by fans traveling from far away, every game adds more burden to the earth.

Anthony Estes mentioned “Manchester VR Sport allows you to create an avatar in the virtual world, so that ‘you’ can get into the game in person and watch it from various angles, venues, and times; with this technology, we don’t need to be there in person. You can get experiences that cannot be obtained on the spot, your avatar can run directly to the center of the field, follow your favorite stars, capture every second of the action, and replay every detail.”

The concept of Manchester VR Sport not only solves geographical, time, and economic issues, but also reaches the 13th goal of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) : Climate Action; by improving the versatility of technology, reducing the carbon emissions from transportation. It not only benefits mankind, but also benefits the earth.

No matter the sounds of rain flapping on the leaves or trees, it belongs to the sound of nature which makes the sounds of foot steps clear.
